My Family :-)

Good Evening All,
I can't believe I have a backlog of scrapbook pages to put up on the blog! I have not blogged over the weekend because Tom and I had a weekend away but we were back early this morning to the shop preparing for the SplodgeAway show and catching up on all the orders. Hence I am blogging from the shop and dreaming and drooling of a chicken dinner, fish and chips, Chinese and all in that order!!

Right back to craft work....this is the page I promised weeks ago, it is of my gorgeous niece and my older bro! This page was what brought back my mojo to get back into my scrapbooking, one Saturday in the shop I decided to bring in some of my stash and sit and craft..big thank you to Dimps, Mo, Tom, Granny Joan and Karen for your inspiration and help!

I seem to have fallen into the habit of using pink and purple in every scrapbook page I produced so when I picked this photo I immediately pulled out green and pink card to match the colours. When I inked and distressed my card I knew straight away I was falling into the trap again so with some help steering me onto a new track I changed the back card from pink to green...

To create the patterned green card I used a sheet of K&Co 12x12 paper from my pad ( I love these pads, they are so versatile and the quality is second to none), I blending a bottle green adirondack ink around the edges and using a pair of scissors and mini mister I distressed the edge of the card. I then used my ultimate favourite craft product aside from my SplodgeAway Mat...Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist in antique green....it left an amazing gold finish...WOW I love this!!!

This picture shows the card before I got my hands on it...

I know I am biased but I would of never of been able to do any of this without the SplodgeAway Mat.

I have started cutting the middle of my backing card out so I can re-use it on another project as such a large area gets covered up when I layer the pages. So using the green card I distressed it again and then handcut 7 double triangles, the whole reason I didn't post this immediately was because I borrowed Granny Joans gold pen to write 'FAMILY' then when she went home Dimps realised I had cut half of the bunting upside down..whoops..so I had to wait for her to come back in to re-use the pen.

Another product we have had in the shop (thanks to Maria) is Inka Gold..I am now addicted to this stuff and I have just found out I can order it in another 8 colours so watch this space...I used ordinary string and inked it gold to use on my bunting, I also inked some lace.

I punched a Martha Stewart strip to fill the bottom of the page and I also misted that...I then placed it next to the lace but something was missing so I inked a white organza ribbon, placed double sided tape on the back and ruffled it......by my wrists hurt after that!

I then inked and sprayed some hand made flowers, one pink to bring out the pink on the photo and put the page together..I never stick anything until I am 100% happy.... when I stuck everything down I added some bling, inka gold around the edge of the outer page and swirls around the flower. I put some journalling around the photo and was quite pleased with the results.

Thanks for looking and you will be pleased to know Tom has ordered food so I will not starve now...
