Dad in the Allotment

Dad In the Allotment Tutorial.

Sorry for the lack of posting but I have been busy working on cards for SplodgeAway Samples. Once they are complete I will post them on the blog.

I have been working on a 12x12 scrapbook page of my Dad at our allotment, it has taken weeks to complete but I am so pleased with the final result.

You will need:
12x12 Green Card
K&Co Susan Winget Green Spotty/ Pink Floral / Green Flourish 12x12 Paper
Lace
Distress Inks – Shabby Shutters and Worn Lipstick
Nellie Snellen Punch and Emboss medium, large and leaf punch
Lime Ice Stickles
Silver Gems
12x12 SplodgeAway Mat
Splodge-A-Mask
K&Co Spring Susan Winger Seeds Embellishments
Green Self Adhesive Pearls

I have taken a piece of green 12x12 Card and distressed the edge
with the SplodgeAway Mat and  Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. The picture below shows the smooth blend the SplodgeAway Mat makes you achieve.

I tend to distress everything I do with scissors!

I used my favourite K&Co pad and cut a scallop alongside the edges of the paper, I then distressed with the SplodgeAway Mat and shabby shutters and distressed again. I sprayed the whole sheet with Cosmic Shimmer pearl mist. I love cosmic shimmers at the moment! We now have the Dylusion Paints in the shop which are like cosmic mist without shimmer and a lot more vibrant!
To make one of my main focus points on the page I embossed a green sheet of Core-d’nations card with a Splodge-A-Mask and Grand Calibur. I then sanded the embossed pattern down and added some creases for effect.  I cut this down to 10x12cm and distressed the edges.

Another great product I use all of the time is the Nellie Snellen punch and emboss. These are great to add dimension to any card or scrapbook. I distressed some more green card and misted with pearl cosmic shimmer, when this was dry I punched several flowers and leaves out in mixed sizes.

I distressed, matted and layered all of the toppers and photos on the page to give it some dimension.

The seeds packet embellishment was plain before I got my hands on it, I then inked, distressed and creased the edges. I love the final piece!

I made the lettering by printing some letters off the computer, inking and distressing with shabby shutters, layer onto some pink patterned card, ink, distress and stickle!

Thanks for looking, Susan x

( I am still working on the layout of the blog, hence everything everywhere!)

Thursday's Class and Hardwick Park

Good Evening Everybody, I hope you have all been enjoying the sun today.
Today was the Suzicraft class, held every fortnight and cost £5. Today we made the card from the post yesterday. I love how we all start with the same goodies and end up with totally different cards.

Here are some of the cards that were made.

After the class Tom and I decided to take the dogs to Hardwick Park. I am in love with the park, we spent 2 hours taking photos, walking, playing with the dogs and relaxing. It was wonderful, the dogs loved it especially Pepsi who cannot walk past water without diving in! Then Smudge and Pepsi thought it would be a good idea to roll in the grass on a bank and ended up rolling down, I am so happy Tom caught it on camera.
Here are a few photos:

I wish I could take credit for these photographs but Tom is the amazing photographer, I have told him I am much better but don't want to show him as this will knock his confidence, lol.

Due in tomorrow: More Hougie Boards, Book 1 and 2 and the new Wedding and Party Book.

Good Night

Last Couple of Days

What a lovely couple of days I have had this week. It all started on Saturday when we had the fabulous Maria Simms over for 2 workshops using cosmic shimmers, dimension stamps, masks and much more. Lots of laughters...what with Mos dangly bits and Marias butterfly but we won't go into that!

On Monday Tom and I went to Hardwick Hall Park in Sedgefield, if you have never been here you MUST go! It was so picturesque, I am quite annoyed I forgot my camera. After the park Tom took me to the golfing range for my dinner, I should have realised this was a tactical move as Tom ended up playing golf with Ian and went to visit my best buddy Sarah. We took Sarahs 2 lovely boys to the park then I came home and chilled

Today I have had a busy day, working from home. I have been prepping for tomorrows Suzicraft class.

This is the card we are making tomorrow:

This card was made using K&Co Blue Awning Papers, Suzicraft gold pearl 8 for £1 sheets, Gold Ice Stickles, Spellbinders Aster nestability, hat pins and gold ribbon.

I LOVE K&Co Scrapbooks Pads, they are one of my most favourite products.

This card was a lot of fun to do, lots of cutting, inking and distressing. I used some creme pearly card and cut it into a 6x6 card. I then used frayed burlap and my 12x12 SplodgeAway Mat and inked all of the edges. I then cut out 3 rectangular pieces of gold pearl card and inked with brushed corduroy, I then distressed the card with a pair of scissors then backed onto some K&Co paper. I also distressed the patterned paper with scissors.

I then placed the distressed pieces on the card and wrapped a piece of gold ribbon along the bottom with double sided tape. I used the aster die and cut out 2 medium asters and a large aster. I mounted them with silicone and looped gold ribbon on the back of the flower. For the flourishes I used the Marianne die and popped in 2 hat pins. The stamp is a Creative Expressions Stamp.

New in the shop:
Tim Holtz Spring Distress Inks
Liquid Pearls

Dylusional Spray Paints

SplodgeAway Week 2 Challenge

Over at the SplodgeAway Blog this week the design team were given the task of following a sketch designed by Karen Wright and using a Butterfly Swirl Splodge-A-Mask. This was a lovely sketch to work with alongside the SplodgeAway Mat.
This is my creation for the week using a stamp from Crafty Sentiments which we sell in the shop. The photo needs re-taking as the light was poor but I will show you this one for now.
